ArchiDesign Lifetime Achievement Award
Objective & Purpose : ArchiDesign Lifetime Achievement Award is an honour bestowed upon architects whose lifetime achievement and contribution to the profession has had a unique and lasting impact on fellow professionals, public welfare and the environment.
ArchiDesign Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded to an individual who exemplifies the following qualities:
  • Excellence in the field of architecture, especially policy, research, project planning, and design.
  • Societal, technical, or environmental advancement through architecture.
  • Has contributed substantially to architecture and whose work has had a meaningful impact on both people and the society; whose work is known and respected by other fellow architects, designers and all other streams of the design and building industry.
  • Has contributed to the advancement of the profession of architecture through his/her own professional and personal initiative and work.
  • His or her contribution to the next generation of architects is felt and respected.
  • Has shown a passion for the profession of architecture all through his/her career.
Eligibility: The individual must be an architect and a registered member of COA.
Restrictions: An individual will qualify and may receive only one ArchiDesign Lifetime Achievement Award in his or her lifetime. This award is for a living Legend; it is not posthumously bestowed upon.
Frequency: Annual
Nomination: Nominations can be made by any registered member of COA. Extra weightage may be given by the Board when two or more past winners of ArchiDesign Awards have nominated. In this case, an ArchiDesign Awards Winner can nominate only one architect in a year.
Deadline : 31 October 2016 (Please see the calendar).
Selection : Each nomination received will be placed before the National Jury of the ArchiDesign Awards for their views and recommendations. Those shortlisted, suggested or preferred will then be placed before the ArchiDesign Board for their final approval and announcement. The names of three of five members of the ArchiDesign Board will not be made public, ever, and the proceedings will not be shared either. The nominee for the ArchiDesign Lifetime Achievement Award is judged based upon the success with which the nomination package demonstrates the candidate's lifetime achievement and contribution to architecture.

The ArchiDesign Board of Directors retains the right to request additional information about candidates as deemed necessary during deliberations.

The National Jury and Core Committee of ArchiDesign Awards will review all nominations and refer to not more than five in one year.

The right to accept the recommended and select for the final award rests solely with the ArchiDesign Award Board only.

The lifespan of two of the five members of the ArchiDesign Award Board will be valid for only one year, besides the two Directors of the ArchiDesign Group and the Secretary General, who are permanent members of the Board.
Announcement & Presentation: Recipient of the ArchiDesign Lifetime Achievement Award is notified and invited to attend the ArchiDesign Awards presentation ceremony where he or she will be awarded. Announcement of the Award will be made through the ArchiDesign bulletin/ newsletter, media release and other communication methods. By accepting the award, the candidate agrees to allow the ArchiDesign Award organisers to use his or her image for the promotion of the recognition awards.
Disqualification : If the Awardee of the ArchiDesign Lifetime Achievement Award enters into any scam, wrongful practices, or is penalized by COA or the Law of the land, he or she will be asked to return the status and the Trophy.
Checklist:

  • Duly filled-in Application Form E;
  • Letter of nomination describing the qualification of the nominee to receive the medal (no more than five pages in length);
  • One-page Abstract of the Nominee, as to why you think he/she deserves the Award.
  • A recent photo of the nominee (as applicable);
  • A resume (curriculum vitae) of the nominee's work experience and project that relate to landscape architecture;
  • Additional supporting materials (to a maximum of 15 pages) such as photographs of best of his/her projects, articles, etc.;
  • A maximum of 3 letters of endorsement.

  • ** The Award Secretariat shall receive all such entries sent by courier/ post/ registered post & sent by 10 December 2016. & as such are received within the next 3 days.
